Application Highlight: Food Safety
PETAL scientists developed over 40 protocols to isolate nucleic acid from a wide variety of plants and food samples to streamline testing of these products for pathogens or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Application Highlight: Clinical and Forensic Samples
Reliable techniques for extracting and detecting nucleic acid from clinical or forensic samples are critical because the material is so limited. PETAL scientists applied Promega technologies to make these workflows more facile and yield high-quality results.

PETAL scientists have more than 35 combined years of research experience (including postdoctoral work) and 20 combined years of training and education experience. Our laboratory has capabilities for common research workflows including microbiology, cell culture, molecular biology, and automated nucleic acid analysis. The PETAL facility has both classroom and laboratory space for hands-on training.
