Dr. Xie’s group constructed a NanoLuc® SARS-CoV-2 reporter virus and screened a broad selection of existing anti-infective drugs. They identified several agents, including remdesivir, as potent, selective inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2. They also used the reporter virus to measure neutralizing antibody levels in COVID-19 patients.
