Viral RNA Extraction

We can help with automation of viral RNA extraction using state-of-the-art purification solutions. Our scientists will assist you in choosing and adapting a viral nucleic acid purification chemistry for your laboratory’s needs.

Direct PCR

Promega can assist laboratories attempting to eliminate the RNA extraction step and go directly to PCR with the XpressAmp™ Direct Amplification Reagents. These reagents are used to prepare viral samples for PCR-based amplification using commonly available RT-qPCR reagents. The simple sample preparation method is easy to automate.

SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Detection

The Lumit™ Dx SARS-CoV-2 Immunoassay provides simple and reliable antibody detection. Performed at room temperature, the assay requires no wash steps and can go from sample to answer in under an hour.

To accommodate testing of large sample sets, this assay is compatible with use on many automated platforms.

Automation of FFPE DNA Extraction: KingFisher™ Flex Liquid Handling System

A customer who sequences FFPE samples from several types of cancers to study immuno-oncology was experiencing a dramatic increase in the number of samples processed. Their manual FFPE kit could not keep up with demand and they wanted to reduce the probability of human error. They decided to automate sample processing on the KingFisher™ Flex in a 96-well format using the Maxwell HT DNA FFPE System. They needed a purification system suitable for high throughput extraction that provided the highest yields of amplifiable DNA.
