Functional Genomics

Functional genomics involves examining the genome for altered genes that can lead to cancer. This research looks at transcription, translation and protein:protein interactions to identify patterns that promote abnormal cell proliferation and correlate with specific tumor types. This genome-wide approach often requires higher throughput methods than traditional gene-by-gene analysis.

DNA Purification and Quantitation

For successful downstream genomic analysis, DNA must be purified and quantitated. The best quantitation method may depend on the sample type and downstream assay.

To NanoDrop or Not to NanoDrop?

In this webinar, Promega scientist Jennifer Mook discusses finding the most appropriate method for nucleic acid quantitation.

Preparing for NGS

Next-generation sequencing offers valuable data from small samples, but it's crucial to assess the quality and quantity of a sample to ensure a successful run.
