Maxwell® CSC Software, Firmware, Methods and Language Packs

Note:

• The Maxwell® CSC Instrument software and instructions for its installation are applicable to the Maxwell® CSC (AS6000) Instrument only. Maxwell® CSC (AS4000) Instrument is discontinued and no longer supported.

1. Prior to upgrading the Maxwell® CSC Software, ensure that the Maxwell® CSC instrument has either Firmware v4.17 (AS6000 instruments with Serial Number 12000568 and lower) or Firmware v5.0.6 (AS6000 instruments with Serial Number 12000569 or higher). To check the Firmware version on your Maxwell® CSC Instrument, launch the Maxwell® CSC Software and go to
   Settings -> Instrument Info. Please contact Promega Technical Services (Techserv@promega.com) for any questions about or installation of a new Firmware or Software version on your Maxwell® CSC instrument.
2. Before upgrading to the new software version, export data such as extraction run reports, log files, and/or audit records that need to be saved and may still reside within the Maxwell® CSC Software into a file in a different directory on the Tablet PC or to your local PC drive to prevent data loss.
3. To ensure migration of the previously installed Maxwell® CSC methods to the new software version, install the updated software version without uninstalling the old software version. If the previous software version is manually uninstalled before installing the update, the existing methods will not migrate. The new software installer will overwrite the software version currently installed on the instrument without the need to uninstall it manually.
4. Power OFF the instrument and disconnect it from the Tablet PC.

5. Download and Save the "Maxwell_CSC_Software_Installer_v4.0.0.zip" file on the Maxwell® CSC Tablet PC.

   Note: Make sure to extract the ‘Maxwell CSC Installer v4.0.0.30.exe’ file from the .zip archive.

6. Right click on the "Maxwell CSC Installer v4.0.0.30.exe" file and select Run as Administrator. Follow the prompts and wait for installation to be completed.

   Note: If the Maxwell® CSC software installation procedure displays a pop-up message regarding an update to the .NET framework, locate file “ndp48-x86-x64-allos-enu.exe” in the .zip archive where the Maxwell® CSC software installer is located. Right click on the file and select Run as Administrator. Follow the prompts and wait for installation to be completed. A restart of the Tablet PC is required to complete the installation of the updated .NET framework. After this restart, perform step 6 again to install the Maxwell® CSC software.

7. Launch the Maxwell® CSC Software and go to Settings -> Instrument Info to verify that the Software version is updated.
