Supporting Promega Families with Virtual Schooling
To support families facing unique challenges during the pandemic, Promega Madison offered additional paid time off and a childcare subsidy. Promega also partnered with a local learning community to host a small “pod” where school-aged children of employees could “attend” their own school’s virtual learning classes under the safe supervision of in-person teachers.

Supporting Employees Who Care for Their Loved Ones
Employees in United States can use paid time as part of the Caregiver Leave program to care for aging parents, ill spouses, children with medical needs, or to bond with a newborn or newly adopted child. This program results in less stress, enhanced productivity and a healthier and happier workforce.

Nurturing Strong Bonds and Building Camaraderie
We know the positive power of connection and relationship. The connection-restricted world brought about by the pandemic made nurturing strong relationships even more important. Locations globally made every effort to create connection and build relationships during a challenging year. Some examples included virtual global town halls, virtual team building activities and virtual operations visits from leadership via the “Chuck Wagon”.

Growing Local, Sustainable Food
An on-site culinary garden supplies the multiple cafeterias at our Madison, WI campus with fresh, locally grown produce. Promega France hosts bee hives that yield fresh and delicious honey.
Investing in Resources for Employee Health
and Well-Being
With a multifaceted approach toward employee well-being, Promega ensures all employees are empowered to be as healthy as they can be with a comprehensive benefits plan, on-site fitness and healthcare facilities and integrated wellness programs. The Promega Wellness Center, located on the Madison campus, offers health consultations and counseling. The annual “Know Your Numbers” health assessments are a free basic blood panel screening that helps employees understand what health risks they might face. Reviewing these results with our Nurse Practitioner, employees can formulate a plan around lifestyle changes they can make to prevent or delay the onset of certain diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

Supporting Employee Physical Activity
Promega provides employees around the globe with a multitude of resources to support active lifestyles, including on-site fitness facilities, group fitness classes, reimbursement for health club memberships and a bike commuter subsidy. That commitment did not waiver in 2020 amid COVID-19 restrictions. Instructors offered classes virtually or in outdoor settings where permitted and the company’s annual 5K run became a global virtual event. Employees participating in the 2020 Promega Qua-run-tine 5K completed the run/walk on their own during a 2-week window.
