Woods Hollow Children’s Center is located on the main corporate campus and serves Promega employees as well as families from surrounding communities. The nonprofit facility provides early childhood education and care for children 6 weeks to 10 years old and is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Promega founded Woods Hollow in 1991 and has provided ongoing support ever since.

The BioPharmaceutical Technology Center Institute (BTC Institute) is a not-for-profit organization that provides educational opportunities for a wide range of learners, from upper elementary students to college and graduate students, as well as career scientists in academia and industry and the public. In 2021, 21 teachers from 8 states attended the week-long “Biotechnology: The Basics” course to develop laboratory preparatory skills to integrate biotechnology into their curriculum. Other BTC Institute programs include the Biotechnology Youth Apprenticeship Program and “A Celebration of Life” in collaboration with the African American Ethnic Academy. BTC Institute also hosts the International Forum on Consciousness, an annual symposium focused on exploring dimensions of consciousness with speakers representing many diverse disciplines.

Promega Art Showcase

Hosted on the Promega Madison campus for more than 20 years, the Art Showcase is a quarterly exhibit featuring the work of local and international painters, photographers, sculptors and artists in many other media. The professionally curated exhibitions, which are free and open to the public, offer both well-established and up-and-coming artists a venue for their work, and provide an opportunity for the surrounding community to explore diverse perspectives. Showcase opening symposia consistently attract hundreds of art enthusiasts. An annual Promega employee art show supports a corporate culture that encourages creative expression.

PBI's Community Action Team volunteering

Coordinating Events to Raise Money for Local Charities

The employee-lead Community Action Team (CAT) at Promega Biosciences in San Luis Obispo, CA, supports growth of their local community in civic vitality, cultural richness, human welfare, environmental sensitivity, educational opportunities and providing for and protecting those in need. In the last year, the team supported the United Way, Central Coast Funds for Kids, Woods Humane Society and EL Camino Homeless Organization. Promega Biosciences offers all full-time employees four hours of paid time each month to use toward volunteer activities and matches employee donations.
