BSA (bovine serum albumin) is tested and qualified for optimum performance in immunoblotting applications with alkaline phosphatase antibody conjugates. It is alkaline phosphatase-free. BSA can be used as a blocking agent to saturate excess sites of antibody binding on membranes.
Tween® 20 is a nonionic detergent used as a buffer component for immunoscreening in the ProtoBlot® Systems. This detergent acts in solution to dissociate nonspecific interactions with an antibody probe.
