Maxwell® CSC RNA Blood Kit Purifies High-Quality RNA

The Maxwell® CSC RNA Blood Kit is intended for use as an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical device, in combination with the Maxwell® CSC Instrument, to provide an easy method for efficient, automated purification of RNA from 2.5ml fresh human whole blood collected in EDTA tubes. The kit uses predispensed reagent cartridges to maximize simplicity and convenience and reduce variability.

The Maxwell® CSC Instrument is preprogrammed with the purification method and can process up to 16 samples in approximately 60 minutes. The purified RNA can be used directly in a variety of amplification-based downstream applications, such as RT-PCR.

Reliable Consistent RNA Purity

RNA Purity ratios A₂₆₀/A₂₈₀; A₂₆₀/A₂₃₀ are shown. RNA was purified in triplicate from eight samples using the Maxwell® CSC Instrument and the Maxwell® CSC RNA Blood Kit. Absorbance was measured at 230nm, 260nm and 280nm using a spectrophotometer. Average and standard deviation of triplicate samples are shown.

RNA Performs Well in Downstream Amplification Assays

Purified RNA was tested for inhibition in RT-qPCR amplification. RNA was purified in eight replicates from 2.5ml of whole blood using the Maxwell® CSC Instrument with the Maxwell® CSC RNA Blood Kit. ΔCq of purified RNA from sample was compared to a no-inhibition control (NIC) and no significant difference in amplification was observed.
