Hear from a Scientist

“Because they don’t have to worry about stutter peaks anymore, forensic DNA analysts will be able to get more valuable information out of each sample. Hopefully, that will lead to solving more cases and doing it all much faster.”

Director of Research, Promega

Paradyme™ 27GY STR System – Blood on Leather Mock Casework Sample
19702ma-1

Figure 1: DNA was purified from a blood stain on a leather belt using Maxwell® FSC DNA IQ™ Casework kit. Eluted DNA was quantitated using PowerQuant® System and 1ng of template DNA was amplified using the Prototype Paradyme™ 27GY STR System for 29 cycles using a ProFlex thermal cycler. Amplification products were separated on the Spectrum CE System and analyzed using GeneMarker®HID Software for Spectrum CE Systems.

Paradyme™ 27GY STR System – Cigarette Butt Mock Casework Sample (female donor)
19703ma-1

Figure 2. DNA was purified from a cigarette butt using Maxwell® FSC DNA IQ™ Casework kit.
