Accelerating Proteomics Research with a Unique, Multi-functional Fusion Protein Technology and an Extensive Collection of Premade Clones

Jacqui Mendez is a Senior Scientist in Functional Proteomics at Promega Corporation, where she leads a broad range of product development for the study of intracellular protein:protein and protein:nucleic acid interactions. Jacqui received her B.S. in Industrial Microbiology from the University of Puerto Rio; and her M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Georgia.

Abstract

Comprehensive protein functional analysis involves numerous experimental approaches including (i) protein purification for relevant downstream assays, (ii) cellular localization and trafficking studies, and (iii) protein interaction characterization. Each of these areas presents its own challenges, but there is a single, unique, multifunctional protein fusion tag, HaloTag®, which is not only well suited to these applications but also overcomes many of the challenges associated with these experiments. This webinar will provide an overview of the HaloTag® technology and its use and advantages in proteomics research. It will also highlight the collection of premade and expression-validated HaloTag®-ORF clones. Published research data will be presented demonstrating the utility of this technology for discovery and scientific advancement in proteomics. Finally, the powerful combination of our NanoLuc™ bioluminescence reporter and HaloTag® fluorescent imaging for BRET (Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer) protein-protein interaction assays will be presented.
