GoTaq® Rapid PCR Master Mix

High-Quality, Fast PCR with Results in as Little as 15 Minutes

Optimized for fast and reproducible endpoint PCR assays, the GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix is a ready-to-use PCR master mix designed with you in mind. This master mix speeds your time-to-results without sacrificing result quality or accuracy, so you can tackle high sample volumes and backlogs with ease.

The GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix includes a Taq polymerase with hot-start antibodies which allow for room-temperature reaction assembly and may reduce primer-dimer and nonspecific DNA amplification. The master mix buffer solution has been optimized to enable the polymerase to combine the annealing and extension phases of a traditional PCR.

Where traditional PCR master mixes can take 1–2 hours to amplify samples, the GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix can decrease that time to as little as 15 minutes, depending on your instrument and target amplicon size. When paired with an instrument with a rapid temperature ramp rate, like the Eppendorf Mastercycler® X50s, amplicons 1kb or greater can be amplified in approximately 15 minutes using the GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix.

Endpoint PCR amplification from samples with GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix. DNA (50ng) from human genomic DNA (gDNA), C. albicans and E. coli was amplified using the Eppendorf Mastercycler® X50s and 13 minute total cycling time. GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix was able to amplify a 1kb amplicon from all three sample types in under 15 minutes.

Fast PCR That Doesn't Compromise Quality

For human genomic DNA (gDNA), researchers can adjust their extension phase based on their desired target amplicon length. Typically, as the extension cycle time increases, the clarity of bands of a given length improves. However, this extension time analysis highlights the ability of the GoTaq® Rapid Master Mix to produce clear bands of increasingly longer targets in just a 15 minute cycling time. Bacterial and fungal DNA samples also experience improved banding under similar conditions and would amplify longer targets (1kb or greater) in the same 15 minute time frame (data not shown).
As PCR extension cycle time increases, the clarity of bands of a given length improves.
