Easy-to-Use Protocol Yields High-Quality, Amplifiable ccfDNA

The Maxwell® RSC ccfDNA Plasma Kit is used with the Maxwell® RSC Instruments to purify circulating cell-free DNA (ccfDNA) from 0.2–1.0ml plasma samples. The Maxwell® RSC Instrument processes from 1 to 16 samples, and the Maxwell® RSC 48 Instrument processes from 1 to 48 samples, in approximately 70 minutes. The kit contains everything necessary for purification, with no preprocessing required.  You simply add the plasma samples to the prepared cartridges and press Start.

The purified cell-free DNA is of high-quality with little genomic DNA contamination, and is ready for use in downstream applications such as qPCR, next generation sequencing and digital PCR.

No Clogging Worries with a Paramagnetic Particle Mover

Because the Maxwell® RSC is a magnetic particle mover, not a liquid handler, it offers advantages over other automated systems. There is minimal risk of cross-contamination because no liquid handling or splashing happens during sample processing. With no clogs and fewer breakdowns, there are fewer disruptions to your workflow.

Simple Three-Step Protocol

The prefilled cartridges and absence of preprocessing steps makes it easy to purify high-quality ccfDNA with a simple three step protocol. In contrast, the lengthy Qiagen protocol requires multiple complicated processing steps.

Simple Protocol saves time. Side-by-side comparison of the protocol steps for the Maxwell® RSC ccfDNA Plasma Kit and the QIAamp® Circulating Nucleic Acid Protocol.

High Yields of amplifiable DNA lets you move to downstream assays quickly

High-Quality ccfDNA is ready-to-use in downstream assays including digital PCR and NGS.

Circulating cell-free DNA yields are equivalent to those from the QIAmp® Kit. DNA was purified from 1ml of plasma using the Maxwell® RSC ccfDNA Plasma Kit and the Qiagen QIAmp® Circulating Nucleic Acid Kit. Isolated ccfDNA was eluted in 80µl and yield was quantified by qPCR.

Maxwell® Cartridge Seal Change

The seal length on Maxwell® Cartridges has changed to create a pull-tab feature. The manufacturing procedures and quality-control testing of products have not changed.
