NanoLuc® Luciferase Technology

Size and brightness are what make NanoLuc® Luciferase a unique and high performing reporter. Its small size means it can be attached to proteins and be fairly innocuous. NanoLuc® Luciferase is easily 100 fold brighter than either firefly or Renilla luciferases whether examined in vitro or expressed in cells. The real value of this brightness is that it allows you to monitor biological events with far less protein expression. Essentially, it means to get a measurable signal, NanoLuc® Luciferase requires much less protein than luciferases like FLuc or RLuc.

NanoLuc® Binary Technology (NanoBiT)

NanoLuc® Binary Technology (NanoBiT) is a structural complementation reporter designed for protein:protein interaction (PPI) studies. The NanoBiT® system is composed of two small subunits, Large BiT and Small BiT, that are expressed as fusions to target proteins of interest. The LgBiT and SmBiT subunits have been optimized for stability and minimal self-association. When two proteins of interest are tagged with these subunits and then interact, the subunits come together to form an active enzyme and generate a bright luminescent signal.
