Transfection Calculator - Introduction
The Transfection Reagent Calculator calculates the amount of DNA,
transfection reagent and medium needed for preparation of transfection
reagent/DNA master mix to be used in transfection experiments.
Select transfection reagent, type of vessel (tissue culture plate
or dish), desired final volume, desired amount of DNA per well or dish, DNA
concentration (if desired), reagent to DNA charge ratio, and number of
replicates (wells or dishes) from the menu choices. Once the plate or dish size
is selected, the volume field automatically updates to display the recommended
volume for each well or dish; this field can be changed from this default
value. We recommend 0.5ml of total volume per 1 × 106 suspension
cells. Please set the volume per transfection accordingly if you are using
suspension cells.
