FuGENE® HD Protocol Database

The FuGENE® HD Protocol Database is a collection of protocols that guide the transfection process for a variety of cell lines. These protocols were developed by Promega Corporation or Fugent, L.L.C., and the outlined conditions gave appreciable transfection results and little toxicity. Further optimization may be possible if transfection efficiency or viability needs to be maximized. Most protocols were tested in a 96-well plate format; therefore, protocols generated for other plate types are based on calculations and are suggested starting points to achieve good results.

For complete details on the use of the FuGENE® HD reagent, please see Technical Manual TM328).

Instructions for use:

  1. Locate the cell line of interest in the drop-down menu. The protocol database will provide instructions for preparing the transfection complex.
If your cell line of interest is not present, it has not been tested extensively by Promega or Fugent, L.L.C., and empirical optimization is recommended. You may select "unlisted cells" to have this tool generate a generic protocol.
  2. Enter the type of well or plate in which the cells are cultured.
  3. Enter the number of wells that will be transfected. The protocol database will scale the results based on the number of wells with an additional 10% added to allow sufficient generation of transfection complex.
