  FBI Approval of PowerPlex® 16 for
  Databasing and CODIS Casework

PowerPlex® 16 Approved by the FBI for Databasing

At the 11th International Symposium on Human Identification, held in Biloxi, MS, October 2000, Barry Brown of the FBI announced the approval of the use of PowerPlex® 16 for use in databasing for NDIS. He made the remarks at both the Fluorescent STR Validation Workshop and the Legislative Updates session of the Symposium. He also stated that he will shortly send letters to that effect to all the CODIS laboratories. 

PowerPlex® 16 Approved by the FBI for CODIS Casework

On February 12, 2001, the FBI announced their decision to approve PowerPlex® 16 for use in CODIS casework. This marks the completion of Promega's validation process involving 24 public and 2 private laboratories in the United States.
