Abstract for GenePrint® Fluorescent STR Systems
The GenePrint® Fluorescent STR Systems contain all of the
materials required to perform 100 or 400 amplification reactions, except for
Taq DNA Polymerase and sample DNA. All of the
GenePrint® Fluorescent STR Systems contain 10X primer
pairs. In each pair, one of the primers is labeled with fluorescein (FL), and
the matched primer is unlabeled. STR 10X Buffer, loading solution, the
appropriate allelic ladder and K562 DNA (positive control) are also provided.
This manual describes the methods that we have evaluated and recommend for sample
preparation, amplification of sample, separation of amplified products and
detection of separated material.
All of the GenePrint® Fluorescent STR Systems can be
amplified using either the Perkin Elmer Model 480 or 9600 thermal cyclers. This
manual provides a number of cycling protocol options so that excellent results
can be obtained regardless of the thermal cycler used.
The GenePrint® Fluorescent STR Systems can be detected
using any of the following instruments: the Hitachi FMBIO® and
Hitachi FMBIO® II Fluorescence Imaging Systems, ABI 373 and ABI
PRISM® 377 DNA Sequencers or ABI PRISM® 310
and 3100 Genetic Analyzers. |
