Abstract for SILVER SEQUENCE™ DNA Sequencing Systems
The SILVER SEQUENCE™ DNA Sequencing System is a non-radioactive
alternative for enzymatic sequence analysis. The SILVER SEQUENCE™
System combines thermal cycle sequencing with a sensitive silver staining
protocol to detect bands in a DNA sequencing gel. Silver staining is a rapid,
inexpensive alternative to radioactive, fluorescent and chemiluminescent
detection approaches. Unlike conventional radioactive sequencing protocols,
results are obtained the same day; sequence may be read 90 minutes after
completion of electrophoresis.
The SILVER SEQUENCE™ DNA Sequencing System includes Promega’s
patented Sequencing Grade Taq DNA Polymerase, which is a modified form that
gives superior results on double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) templates. Sequencing
Grade Taq DNA Polymerase produces uniform band intensity, low background and a
high degree of accuracy. |
