Abstract for DNA IQ™ Casework Sample Kit for Maxwell® 16
The DNA IQ™ Casework Sample Kit for Maxwell® 16 is used with the
Maxwell® 16 LEV Instrument (Cat.# AS1002) and is specifically designed for
optimal extraction of DNA from forensic casework samples. These samples may
include blood stains, semen stains, hair, cigarette butts, tissue samples and trace
or "touch" DNA samples regularly encountered in forensic DNA analysis. The
Maxwell® 16 LEV Instrument is supplied with preprogrammed purification
procedures and designed for use with predispensed reagent cartridges, eluting
DNA samples into small, concentrated volumes. The instrument can process up
to 16 samples in approximately 30 minutes, and the purified DNA can be used
directly in genetic STR amplification reactions for forensic profile analysis or
can be quantitated prior to STR amplification.
