Abstract for siSTRIKE™ U6 Hairpin Cloning System—hMGFP

The siSTRIKE™ U6 Hairpin Cloning System—hMGFP is a cloning system for short hairpin RNA (shRNA) expression and includes a vector with an internal fluorescent marker for monitoring delivery efficiency of shRNA-expressing constructs. The vector contains the human U6 promoter, which is recognized by RNA polymerase III, allowing transcription of hairpin target sequences and generation of short interfering RNA (siRNA) in vivo. The CMV promoter drives the strong constitutive expression of an improved synthetic version of green fluorescent protein (hMGFP) in many cell types. The presence of the hMGFP gene enables transfection efficiency to be easily determined and allows selection of transfected cells by fluorescence-activated cell sorting.
