The Tissue and Hair Extraction Kit (for use with DNA IQ™), when used in conjunction with the DNA IQ™ System, is designed to purify double-stranded or single-stranded DNA from tissue and hair samples. These sample types require a pretreatment to ensure complete lysis prior to DNA purification with the DNA IQ™ System. The reagents provided with the Tissue and Hair Extraction Kit (for use with DNA IQ™) are sufficient to break up most tissue and hair samples. The Tissue and Hair Extraction Kit protocol includes details for the purification of genomic and mitochondrial DNA from hair follicles and hair shafts and purification of genomic DNA from fresh, frozen, or formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue.
