Abstract for CaspACE™ Assay System, Colorimetric
The CaspACE™ Assay System, Colorimetric, provides reagents for
measuring the activity of caspase-3, a member of the cysteine aspartic
acid-specific protease family. These proteases have been shown to play key roles
in apoptosis in mammalian cells. The CaspACE™ Assay System provides
a colorimetric substrate and a cell-permeable inhibitor that allow highly
sensitive, quantitative measurement of caspase-3 (DEVDase) protease activity, an
early regulatory event in the apoptotic cell death process. This assay system
may be used with purified enzyme preparations or cell extracts and can be
adapted for use in high-throughput systems.
