Ann MacPhetridge joined Promega’s Genetic Identity team in January of 2011 as Marketing Manager. In this role, Ann is responsible for developing, communicating and implementing strategic global marketing plans and working with the sales teams and branch offices. Ann received a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin—Oshkosh in 1990 and a Master of Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management in 1997. Her professional background includes 20 years of marketing experience in the life sciences, including employment with companies such as Pharmacia, Roche Diagnostics and Ambion/Applied Biosystems.

This webinar will give details on the configuration of the 24-locus multiplex as well as a summary of the studies performed by Promega and our collaborators addressing federal standards and criteria established by the FBI and SWGDAM for developmental validation. The optimal conditions for amplification with the PowerPlex® Fusion System of purified DNA samples and direct amplification of blood and buccal samples from various substrates will be presented. These studies demonstrate the sensitivity and the superior inhibitor tolerance of the multiplex. The data generated during the developmental validation indicate that the PowerPlex® Fusion System is a robust and reliable multiplex which delivers more information in demanding forensic, paternity and relationship testing cases.
