Rohaizah James
Rohaizah joined Promega in May 2011 as Product Manager. She is responsible for developing new Genetic Identity products as well as maintaining quality and availability of launched products. Her product responsibilities include preprocessing reagents (DNA IQ™ Systems, Differex™ Systems and Slicprep™ 96 Device) as well as PowerPlex® ESX, ESI, ES, Y and S5 Systems.
Rohaizah received her Ph.D. from the Biochemistry department at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. After several years of laboratory research on gene therapy and stem cells, she worked on siRNA and miRNA at Dharmacon (now part of ThermoFisher) and was most recently a Product Manager for DNA microarrays at Roche NimbleGen before joining Promega.
She lives with her husband and two cats. She enjoys playing tennis, hiking and watching movies.
Jonathan Drobac
Jonathan Drobac is the new Technical Support and Training Specialist at Promega. He is responsible for customer training and support for Genetic Identity products and applications. He also will represent Promega at meetings and develop and present educational talks for the DNA-typing community.
Jon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona and a Masters Degree in Forensic Science from the University of Central Oklahoma. Prior to joining Promega, he worked at the Phoenix Police Department Crime Laboratory for more than eight years as a Forensic Scientist in the Forensic Biology Section, where his duties were to consult with law enforcement personnel prior to analysis, conduct both screening and DNA analysis, and testify to the results in court. He also was involved in training new analysts, forensic nurses, detectives, county attorneys and the general public as to how to conduct forensic biology screening and DNA analysis.
Jon and his family currently reside in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and they just had their third child, a little baby girl. They have one dog, a boxer, named Cassious. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors and trying to remain active.
