"One-Hybrid" System to Study Nuclear Receptors

Study nuclear receptors using luciferase reporter assays as part of a "one-hybrid" system. In this system, the nuclear receptor ligand binding domain is fused to the DNA-Binding Domain of the yeast GAL4 transcription factor. The hybrid fusion-protein nuclear receptor is then used to activate the luc2P luciferase reporter under the control of nine repeats of the GAL4 UAS.

Featured Products

Vectors for Nuclear Receptor Studies

The "pBIND" vectors express fusion proteins that can induce transcription of luciferase when under control of an upstream Gal4 UAS. Each pBIND vector also contains a Renilla luciferase/neo resistance co-reporter for data normalization and transfection control.

GloResponse™ Cell Line

This cell line contains nine repeats of GAL4 UAS, driving the transcription of the luc2P reporter gene in response to binding of a fusion protein containing the GAL4 DNA Binding Domain, making the cell line suitable for the study of nuclear receptors.

pGL4 Luciferase Reporter Vectors

These next generation, luciferase reporter vectors offer more efficient expression of both firefly and Renilla luciferases in mammalian cells. Use the pGL4 Vector Selector to find the ideal vector for your application.
