Promega Spring Art Show Features RESPONSES a Showcase of Art and Photography
MADISON, WISCONSIN (February 12, 2009)
The Promega Spring Art Show presents "RESPONSES a Showcase of Art & Photography". The Spring Art Show includes black & white photography, hand colored photos, and multimedia pieces. Artists featured:
- Simeon "Big Eyes" Schwemberger – A Franciscan Brother in Arizona, Schwemberger acquired his first camera in 1902. For the next six years he photographed the lives of the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, and Pueblo Indians living in northeast Arizona and northwest New Mexico.
- Seacourt Print Workshop Artists – Workshop artists created works in response to Schwemberger’s photographs.
- Jaroslava Sobiskova – Finding beauty in Wisconsin’s natural landscapes, Sobiskova uses paint, felt and clay forming to express herself through her art.
- Alison Mader – Inspired by her own experiences, desires and surroundings, Mader captures her ideas in black & white and then accents images with color. A local to Madison, Mader’s exhibiting artwork reflects the year 2008, when she turned 50.

photographs will be speaking about the photo archive during
the reception. Rob Taylor and Robert Peters, Seacourt Print
Workshop Director, co-curated "Response" in Belfast and
Phoenix, shown simultaneously Fall 2008.
The RESPONSES a Showcase of Art & Photography showcase opens
Tuesday, March 10, 2009 and continues through June 1,
2009 at the Promega BioPharmaceutical Technology Center in
Madison. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to
4:00pm.
A public art opening reception will be held on
Tuesday, March 10 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm. Daniel
Swadener, in conjunction with Promega, is the producer of

Promega Corporation has sponsored the artist's showcase since 1996 as part of the company's commitment to creativity and innovation in the arts, cultures and sciences. The Biopharmaceutical Technology Center, located on 5445 East Cheryl Parkway two miles south of Highway 12/18 (Beltline) off Fish Hatchery Road, was developed, in part, to provide Promega employees and community members a place to pursue these goals.
