Tandem Press is based at University of Wisconsin-Madison
(UW-Madison), and offers an extraordinary educational experience
for students, faculty, and the community, which is unparalleled
at any other University in the United States. The Tandem Press
is an artistic laboratory where creative experimentation is
undertaken by internationally recognized artists, UW-Madison
students, art department faculty, staff and volunteers.
UW-Madison’s stated mission is threefold: teaching, research,
and public service. The Tandem Press shares this mission by
teaching, undertaking research into new and old printmaking
techniques, and by conducting outreach programs to help educate
the public about art in general, and printmaking in particular.
Tandem Press is affiliated to the Department of Art in the
School of Education.
Promega Corporation has sponsored the artist’s showcase since
1996 as part of the company’s commitment to creativity and
innovation in the arts, cultures and sciences. The
Biopharmaceutical Technology Center, located on 5445 East Cheryl
Parkway two miles south of Highway 12/18 (Beltline) off Fish
Hatchery Road, was developed, in part, to provide Promega
employees and community members a place to pursue these goals.
"The Texture of Landscape" showcase opens Wednesday March 12, 2008 and continues through June 10, 2008 at the Promega BioPharmaceutical Technology Center in Madison. A public art opening reception will be held on Wednesday March 12 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
The exhibit is open Monday
through Friday 8am - 4pm as of June 17, 2008 through August 29, 2008. Daniel Swadener, in conjunction with Promega, is the producer of the art exhibit. For more information he can be contacted through e-mail at swadener@gmail.com or visit his web site at: danielswadener.com.
