Promega Summer Art Showcase Features Fire Arts

MADISON, WISCONSIN (May 24, 2007)

 

The Promega Art Showcase Fire Arts will feature 18 artists along with their sculptures made from bronze, plaster, wood, ceramics, mixed media and jewelry. Work varies in size from 3 – 5 feet to quite small. The 3-D art will be showcased in the Promega atrium and outside on the new Terrazzo balcony garden.

Fire Arts Studio is home to professional and emerging artists and is fully equipped for artist who use fire in the creation of their work. They are able to work along side each other to learn and share creativity. The studio is located in South Bend, IN and works closely with the community by holding lectures, workshops, demonstrations and exhibits.

The Summer Art Showcase opens Tuesday June 12, 2007 and continues through September 10, 2007 at the Promega BioPharmaceutical Technology Center in Madison. An art opening reception will be held on Tuesday June 12 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm, is open to the public.

Promega Corporation has sponsored the artist’s showcase since 1996 as part of the company’s commitment to creativity and innovation in the arts, cultures and sciences. The Biopharmaceutical Technology Center, located on 5445 East Cheryl Parkway two miles south of Highway 12/18 (Beltline) off Fish Hatchery Road, was developed, in part, to provide Promega employees and community members a place to pursue these goals.

The exhibit is open Monday – Friday 8 am - 4 pm from June 13, 2007 through September 10, 2007. Daniel Swadener, in conjunction with Promega, is the producer of the art exhibit.
