MADISON, WISCONSIN (August 28, 2006)

The Promega Fall Art Showcase will feature the rephotography work of Mark Klett and Zane Williams. Kletts’ photographs focus on the landscape of Western United States, including Yosemite and San Francisco. Zanes’ photographs are Madison-based. Re-photography involves reshooting scenes found in original or historical photographs and comparing the images after time has past. The show opens Tuesday, September 12, 2006 and continues through November 30, 2006 at the Promega BioPharmaceutical Technology Center in Madison. An art opening reception, Tuesday, September 12 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm, is open to the public.

Mark Klett, a Regents’ Professor of Art at Arizona State University in Tempe, has received three National Endowment for the Arts fellowships. In the past 25 years of his photography work he has published over 12 books including Third Views, Yosemite in Time, and After the Ruins. His work has been exhibited in museums and libraries in California and other western states. Kletts’ photographs at the show include: “After the Ruins, 1906 and 2006”, Yosemite in Time” and Third Views, Second Sights”.

Zane Williams has photographed many Wisconsin historical sites along with many farm scenes, including the USPS Sesquicentennial postage stamp. Williams’ “Double Take: A rephotographic Survey of Madison, Wisconsin” will be featured at the Fall Art Showcase.

Promega Corporation has sponsored the artist’s showcase since 1996 as part of the company’s commitment to creativity and innovation in the arts, cultures and sciences. The Biopharmaceutical Technology Center, located on 5445 East Cheryl Parkway two miles south of Highway 12/18 (Beltline) off Fish Hatchery Road, was developed, in part, to provide Promega employees and community members a place to pursue these goals.

The exhibit is open Monday – Friday 8 am - 4 pm from September 12, 2006 through November 30, 2006. Daniel Swadener, in conjunction with Promega, is the producer of the art exhibit. For more information he can be contacted through e-mail at swadener@excite.com or by calling (608) 277-2563.
