Evidence linking the transmission of enteric viral (RNA viruses) disease to
shellfish has been known for a long time. Described here is a simple and rapid method for
the isolation and molecular detection of viral pathogens in shellfish using the Wizard®
DNA Clean-Up System and the Access RT-PCR System.
