Detecting Apoptosis

The recent interest in programmed cell death has resulted in the
development of a variety of different methods for detecting apoptosis. In this article the
features of three different Promega apoptosis detection systems, the Apoptosis Detection
System, Fluorescein, the DeadEndTM Colorimetric Apoptosis Detection
System and the CaspACETM Assay System, Fluorometric, are discussed. The
technical basis of each of these systems is explained and the utility of each for
measuring specific cellular events associated with apoptosis is highlighted.
