Analysis of DNA Fragmentation in Epidermal Keratinocytes using
the Apoptosis Detection System, Fluorescein

Apoptosis - programmed cell death - encompasses the controlled
death of a variety of cells, both in development and in adult-stage tissues, and it has
evolved into a popular and fast-growing field of study. In this report, we used the
Apoptosis Detection System, Fluorescein, available from Promega, for the specific
detection and quantitation of apoptotic keratinocytes in populations of apoptotic and
nonapoptotic cells.
