A Trio of TfxTM Transfection Reagents for Eukaryotic Cells

By Elaine Schenborn, Jennifer Oler and Virginia Goiffon
Promega Corporation

Promega's TfxTM Reagent(a) product line has recently been expanded to include the TfxTM-10, TfxTM-20 and TfxTM-50 Reagents. All these reagents contain the same cationic lipid species, but are formulated with different molar ratios of the neutral lipid component, L-dioleoyl phosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE). Differences in the proportion of cationic:neutral lipid result in changes in the transfection efficiency for different cell types. The TfxTM-10, TfxTM-20 and TfxTM-50 Reagent formulations thus provide a range of transfection reagents which give optimal performance in multiple cell lines. To facilitate selection of the optimal TfxTM Reagent for your cell lines, all three of these formulations are available in the new TfxTM Reagents Transfection Trio.

(a)The cationic lipid component of the TfxTM Reagents is covered by U.S. Pat. No. 5,527,928 and pending foreign patents.
