DNA Excision Repair Catalyzed in vitro by the HeLaScribe™ Nuclear Extract

Promega's HeLaScribe™ Nuclear Extract provides a source of all the factors
required to perform in vitro nucleotide excision repair of DNA. Incubation of this
nuclear extract with plasmid DNA containing bulky carcinogen adducts results in
damage-specific DNA repair synthesis. In this work, we show that HeLaScribe™ Nuclear
Extract promotes DNA repair synthesis at levels similar to those of the whole cell
extracts commonly used for human excision repair studies.
