Control and Modulation of Neonatal Myocyte Calcium Movements by Cytokines

L. Maximillian Buja and Roger J. Bick
Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston
Houston, Texas 77030

These compounds appear to uncouple calcium transport from adenylate cyclase/beta-adrenergic receptor mechanisms. This ability indicates that cytokines may influence how cardiac cells adapt or recover from stress and injury.
