Isolation of mRNA from Plant Tissues Using the PolyATtract® System 1000

The PolyATtract® System 1000 has been employed successfully in the isolation of
mRNA from maize and tobacco tissues. This system yielded poly(A) RNA in approximately 40
minutes from as little as 0.5g of tissue, with yields comparable to or better than
standard methods. The mRNA appeared intact in Northern blot analysis and functioned well
as a template in in vitro protein synthesis experiments.
