Neurotrophic factors are prime candidates in many studies aimed at understanding the
mechanisms of some human neurodegenerative diseases. We are focusing on the possible role
of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor, TrkB, with emphasis on the
cellular events following receptor phosphorylation. Herein, we tested the neutralizing
effect of a BDNF antibody (Cat.#
G1641) on BDNF-mediated activation of TrkB, as assessed by receptor
tyrosine phosphorylation.
