TGFβ2 ELISA System

Transforming growth factor β2 (TGFβ2) is a member of the TGFβ superfamily that includes glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). In addition to its immunomodulatory functions, TGFβ2 is expressed also in neurons and glia following nervous tissue injury and in response to chronic neurodegenerative disease. Promega now offers the TGFβ2 ELISA System (Cat.# G7600) , an antibody sandwich ELISA format designed for the sensitive and specific detection of biologically active TGFβ2.

SAM2® Biotin Capture Membrane

Promega introduces the SAM Biotin Capture Membrane (Cat.# V2861, V7861), a unique, streptavidin-bound solid substrate for the capture of biotinylated target substrates. The proprietary membrane features extremely sensitive detection, typically in the low femptomole range, and high binding capacity that is independent of the target peptide sequence.

Apoptosis Detection System, Fluorescein (DeadEnd™ Fluorometric TUNEL System)

Apoptosis refers to the morphological alterations that dying cells undergo in the physiological process also known as programmed cell death. Apoptosis plays an indispensable role in the development and maturation of many mammalian systems including the nervous system. Cells that are programmed to die exhibit fragmented DNA that is digested further to multimers approximately 200bp in length. The presence of DNA multimers of (200)n is a hallmark of apoptosis. The DeadEnd™ Fluorometric TUNEL System (Cat.# G3250; previously Apoptosis Detection System, Fluorescein) is designed for the specific detection and quantitation of apoptotic cells in situ and in cell suspensions.

NT-3 ELISA System (NT-3 Emax® ImmunoAssay System)

Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) is involved in the signal transduction of the p75 receptor that is implicated, along with brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF), in the induction of ICE-like proteases (e.g., ceramide) which in turn lead to apoptosis. Although NT-3 selectively binds and activates the tyrosine kinase receptor TrkC, it can act, to a lesser extent, on TrkA and TrkB. NT-3 also regulates the survival and differentiation of discrete neuronal populations. The NT-3 ELISA System (Cat.# G7640, G7641) is designed for the convenient detection of soluble NT-3 using an antibody sandwich ELISA format.
