Free Maxwell Firmware Download
The Maxwell® 16 firmware
contains the machine language necessary to run the
Maxwell 16 Instrument. Each firmware upgrade is a
single data file that contains all Maxwell 16
automated method applications. The download contains
the firmware file as well as instructions on how to
install the firmware on your Maxwell 16 Instrument.
Maxwell 16 firmware can be updated from any computer
(Microsoft Windows®
95 or higher*) with an available serial
port.

Latest Firmware Version
Firmware version 4.00 is the latest firmware
version offered for the Maxwell 16 Instrument.
Version 4.00 expands the instrument capabilities by
supporting either standard elution (SEV) or low
elution volume (LEV) formats. Please refer to the
Technical Manual TM274
for a complete list of hardware accessories for each
format, as well as instructions for re-configuring
your Maxwell instrument.
Version 4.00 contains genomic DNA, Buffy Coat,
RNA, and Protein purification applications in SEV
format, and RNA and Forensic Casework applications
in LEV format. To identify which firmware version is
currently installed on your Maxwell 16 Instrument,
please follow the steps below:
- Turn off the Maxwell 16 Instrument
- Turn on the Maxwell 16 Instrument
- Check the display screen to identify the
current firmware version
(current version will display for 4-5
seconds)
- If necessary, repeat steps to identify the
current firmware version
