Genomic DNA Purification

This unit discusses the chemistry and purpose behind the steps involved in genomic DNA purification. The accompanying laboratory has students perform "home brew" DNA purification using household solutions (solutions-based purification) as well as use a commercial kit for purification (membrane-based).
