Promega AG was established as Catalys AG  in 1991 as the Swiss branch office of Promega Corp., a Madison (Wisconsin, USA) based, innovative manufacturer and supplier of research products for the life science market. Promega AG is a sales & marketing organization supplying research laboratories in academia and industry with high quality research products. A highly competent Technical Support Team provides technical advice and support.

Milestones in the history of Promega AG

• 1991: the Swiss branch office of Promega Corp starts it's operation in Wallisellen under the name Catalys AG

• 1992: The first extension of the product range: Catalys AG is appointed as the exclusive distributor of Serva GmbH, Germany

• 1993: Exclusive factory direct distributor of Molecular BioProducts Inc., San Diego, USA

• 1995: Exclusive distribution rights for Turner Luminometers of Turner Designs, Sunnyvale, USA

• 1997: Exclusive distribution rights for Thermo Hybaid instruments of Hybaid Ltd., Ashford, UK

• 1998: Exclusive distribution rights for submarine electrophoresis systems of  Biosmart GmbH, Bern

• 1998: ISO 9002 certification is awarded to Catalys AG

• 2000: Official distributor for instruments, liquid handling products and diagnostic kits of Thermo Labsystems, Helsinki, Finland

• 2000: Official distribution rights for iGels of Gradipore , Frenchs Forest, Australia

• 2006: Change of our local distribution to a centralized European distribution center

• 2006: Change to the new company name Promega AG

• 2007: Move to new office premises in Dübendorf
