Promega offers a wide range of reverse transcriptases. For full-length transcripts choose either the ImProm-II™ Reverse Transcriptase, M-MLV RT RNase H–, Point Mutant or the M-MLV RT RNase H–, Deletion Mutant. For higher temperature applications with tricky secondary structure, choose the AMV RT. The most economical solution for most templates is the M-MLV Reverse
Transcriptase.
In general, both M-MLV RT RNase H minus, point mutant and the
ImProm-II™ RT produce more cDNA than the deletion mutant. M-MLV-based reverse transcriptases perform optimally at 37°C and AMV RT works optimally at 42°C. The Point Mutant , ImProm-II™ RT and AMV RT can be used at elevated temperatures in the 50°C-60°C range.
