Genetic Identity Product Profiles: GenePrint® Fluorescent STR Systems

Monoplexes

Description

The Fluorescent Monoplex STR Systems have been developed for use with the Hitachi FMBIO® Fluorescent Scanner, the FMBIO® II Fluorescent Scanner, and the Applied Biosystems ABI PRISM® 377 DNA Sequencer. One primer for each locus in a multiplex or monoplex system has been labeled with fluorescein to allow fluorescent detection. Fluorescein has an excitation maximum at 488nm and a light emission maximum at 532nm. Therefore, the systems are also compatible with a variety of fluorescence detection instruments including the Molecular Dynamics FluorImager® and GenomyxSC™ Fluorescent Scanners, the ABI PRISM® 373 DNA Sequencer, the ABI PRISM® 310 Genetic Analyzer, and the Pharmacia ALF® (but not the ALFexpress™) DNA Sequencer.

Features

  • High-Throughput Analysis:

  • Analysis is achieved by comparison of amplified sample DNA fragments directly with the allelic ladder present for each locus.
  • Convenient:

  • Results obtained using the CTTv Fluorescent STR System can be recorded in a digitized format, allowing direct comparison with stored databases.
  • Sensitive:

  • Amplification of 1-25ng of genomic DNA.
  • Tolerant:

  • More tolerant of degraded DNA than other typing methods.
  • Allelic Ladder:

  • Comparison of amplified alleles with the allelic ladders provided with each system allows rapid and reliable determination of allele content.
  • Outstanding Technical Support:

  • Promega Technical Services Representatives are highly trained scientists who provide exceptional support for the entire Promega product line. Promega also provides technical training and support for its global distribution network and conducts customer training workshops in human DNA typing.
