Grand Prize Purification Sweepstakes Rules

How to Enter: Beginning on November 12, 2007, submit sample type information in accordance with the purification survey generated at the Promega Corporation ("Promega") Website: www.promega.com/applications/dna_rna/. All complete entries are eligible for a free purification t-shirt and will be entered into the Grand Prize Purification Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes"). Promega, its respective affiliates and subsidiaries, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) are not responsible for: any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omission, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online systems, computer equipment, server providers, or software, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes; inability to access the Promega Website; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; printing or human or other errors; and any entries which are late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, stolen, mutilated, illegible or postage due, or any combination thereof. Proof of mailing, in person submission, or online submission is not considered proof of delivery or receipt. The Sweepstakes may also be entered by printing out and completing a purification survey form: Printable Submission Form (PDF, 23KB); and mailing to Purification Sweepstakes, Promega Corporation, 2800 Woods Hollow Road, Madison Wisconsin, 53711. Entries must be postmarked by March 15, 2008 and received by March 20, 2008. All entries become the property of Promega and will not be acknowledged or returned. Purchase will not increase chance of winning.

Eligibility: This Sweepstakes is open only to individuals currently involved in biological research or training, who are 21 years of age or older. Employees and members of their households and immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, children and each of their respective spouses) of Promega and its respective affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to participate. Life science researchers' student status or employment at academic institutions or life science companies will be verified to determine prize eligibility. By entering, all participants and/or entrants release Promega and its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their respective employees, officers, directors, agents and shareholders, from and against all claims and damages arising in connection with each entrant's participation and/or entry in the Sweepstakes and/or their receipt or use of any Prize awarded in this Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is governed by U.S. law and is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.

How Winner will be Determined: The Grand Prize Winner ("Winner") will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on approximately March 25, 2008. Promega's decisions with respect to the Winner and other matters pertaining to the Sweepstakes shall be final. The Winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability and publicity (where permitted), and return same, properly executed, within 10 days of issuance of Prize notification. If Promega is unable to contact the Winner within 5 days of the initial attempt to contact, if the Winner fails to complete and return all requested forms by the specified date, or if the Winner fails to comply with any of the requirements, his/her Prize will be forfeited and an alternate Winner shall be selected. By entering into the Sweepstakes, all entrants consent to the use of their name, photograph, likeness, biography, voice and/or video for advertising and promotional purposes, including online announcements, worldwide and without limitation and without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received for the applicable drawing.

Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If, in Promega's opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if computer virus, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical difficulties or failures compromise or corrupt or affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Promega reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and void any entries submitted fraudulently, to modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, or to terminate the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to award the Grand Prize using all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the termination date. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, notice will be posted on the Promega Website. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, PROMEGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

Prize: Grand Prize: Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive two thousand dollars awarded to their institution for support to travel to a scientific meeting. Winner's List: Beginning on or about March 25, 2008, entrants may obtain the name of the Grand Prize Winner, either by going to the Promega Website (www.promega.com/applications/dna_rna/) or mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Purification Sweepstakes, Promega Corporation, 2800 Woods Hollow Road, Madison, WI 53711. Requests received after May 15, 2008 will not be honored.
