MagneSil™ Blood Genomic, Max Yield System
If you are in large-scale clinical or academic genotyping research, one
of your major concerns is sample preparation. You need to purify DNA from a large number of blood samples, and you know automation can make this possible.
What you need is speed, but what you really need is a walk-away method.
The MagneSil™ Blood Genomic, Max Yield System allows you to concentrate on other aspects of your work while unattended instruments purify your DNA.
The MagneSil™ Blood Genomic, Max Yield System is a high-throughput system for DNA purification from blood. The system will purify
4-9µg of DNA from 200ul of anti-coagulated liquid blood in a 96-well walk-away automated format. Set up and place the blood samples on the instrument and start the instrument. That’s it. A Beckman Coulter Biomek® FX robot will complete purification in about 1.5 hours.

Representative DNA yield from 12 donors. Average yield from these
samples is 5.7µg from 200µl of liquid blood.

Compatible with all major anti-coagulants
Purification is accomplished using Promega’s MagneSil™ paramagnetic particles, optimized buffers, and the Deep Well MagnaBot® Magnetic Separation Device. The procedure consists of three simple steps.
- Whole blood is added to Lysis Buffer and MagneSil™ particles and is mixed to lyse white cells and bind DNA to the particles.
- Washes are done to remove heme, protein and other contaminants.
- Finally, the DNA is eluted in Elution Buffer ready to be analyzed by PCR, multiplex PCR, or other genotyping applications.

Consistent amplification results: Amplification of 320bp ApoE Gene
fragment. Lane 8 is intentionally blank.
Benefits
- Increased productivity: Easier to perform than existing methods.
- Save time: Walk-away automation.
- Achieve consistent results: High-quality DNA from well to well and plate to plate.
