- Why am I seeing the "Country Manager" page?
What is it for?
- If youre seeing the Country Manager page, youre either a brand new visitor
to our site, or are a repeat visitor who has deleted their cookies. This page helps us
"localize" your experience and show you information that will be the most
relevant to you based on your location, such as pricing, promotions and contact
information.
Upon selecting a Promega branch on this page, the system will set a "cookie" on
your machine. As long as you don't delete that cookie, you won't see that page
again. An exception to this rule would be if you specifically requested to revisit
that page and change the branch you're associated with, which you can do from the homepage
and the catalog portion of our site.
-
- I selected the wrong country - how do I change it?
- If the wrong country flag is displayed in the upper right corner of the page displayed in
your browser, simply click on the flag to view the Country Manager page, then select the correct country.
-
- What are cookies?
- "Cookies" are small bits of information that are stored on your computer's
hard drive by your browser. Cookies are often created when you visit a web site for the
first time-they simply let the web site know when you return that you have been there
before.
We use cookies as a way to enhance your experience on our web site. The
computer-to-Promega recognition afforded by cookies makes it possible for you to submit
certain information just once.
For example, the very first time you visit our site (if there isn't already a Promega
cookie on your machine), we ask you to specify your geographic location. On future visits,
you will not see this request page again. This indicates a functioning cookie. It's
"remembering" what you told us on the first site visit.
-
- How do I turn cookies on/off?
- This will depend on what type of computer, browser and browser version
you are using. A good place to start for help with turning cookies
on/off is the online Help within your browser. ‘Help’ is usually one of
the choices along the top menu bar. Look/search for information on
enabling or disabling cookies. You may also find information on cookies
under help topics involving security.
