Promega strives to minimize environmental impacts through a range of efforts aimed at reducing emissions, material consumption, and waste. Through focused action and increased awareness we are on target to achieve stated 2014 reduction goals in all six key indicators for environmental sustainability.
Climate Change
Promega strives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at all levels of business operation, both direct emissions from fuel combustion and indirect emissions from purchased electricity, business travel and distribution.
Improved awareness and focused action since the program inception in 2008 has resulted in an overall 17% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as indexed to revenue. Gross carbon footprint was held to a 3.6% increase in 2011 despite a 7% increase in employees and the addition of several new buildings.
All Promega locations are committed to sustainable operation and invest time and resources to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and increase awareness about environmental impacts. As a result of this concerted effort throughout the organization, Promega is on target to achieve our 2014 reduction goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10% as indexed to revenue.
