Real-time PCR made accessible for new users with a focus on the applications of the technique.


Real-time PCR can be a daunting field, with competing technologies, sophisticated instruments and expensive reagents, many new users of Real-time PCR can be overwhelmed by the apparent complexity of the technique. Yet underneath this, the technique is both simple and powerful, and the technologies involved turn out to be complimentary, not competing.

This webinar provides a grounding in the basics of how the different technologies work and their relative advantages. Data interpretation, a frequently confusing topic is also discussed, as well as the applications of Real-time PCR and features compared to other methods currently available.

From gene expression studies to pathogen detection, the underlying principles are the same – this seminar aims to allow users to appreciate the capabilities of Real-time PCR and so to see what questions Real-time PCR can answer in their science.
