Promega @cademy:
What is a webinar?
|
|
A webinar is an online seminar
The presenter gives hosts seminar using a web-linked microphone and video
camera. Promega’s webinar environment does not require any prior
program download, and it enables us to give a seminar to anyone,
wherever they are, and to allow communication between all participants
through a chat function. For the Genetic Identity webinars another format
will be used*.
Promega
@cademy webinars are free of charge. There are two different
webinars: basic webinars and specialist webinars.

Basic
webinars address the basics of
specific topics and technologies, such as genetic
reporters or apoptosis. They are especially useful for
students, technicians and junior scientists in general.

Specialist webinars address more specialized
topics and are useful for PhD students and senior
scientists.
How does it work?
If you see a webinar that interests you,
complete your registration on the page of
the webinar.
Registration is important: to ensure the interactive character of the
webinars, we will only accept a limited amount of attendees.
Everyone who
registers will receive the URL of the webinar one working day
before the webinar. You can enter the webinar room before the
webinar starts
to check if everything is working
correctly. Simply
type your first and last name in the guest-name box and see how the
webinar room looks.
We recommend that you check whether your computer meets the
technical
requirements, and that you get acquainted with the tools before attending a
webinar.
You don't need special software to enter the webinar-room.

*Please note that for the
Genetic Identity webinar series a different
webinar format will be used. For these webinars it is
necessary to call in via normal phone to hear the voice
and to visit a URL to see the presentation.
This format is only used for the webinars in the
category 'Genetic Identity'.
